Mock Interview
Who did you interview with and what is their job title?
Elder Johnson, He and his wife are missionaries at the LDS employment resource
service center. I took “the career workshop” that they provide when I was
searching for a job.
What was most useful to you about this experience?
I like the fact that our mock interviews were filmed so we
could see ourselves; I was also able to see the interviews of the other people
who were taking the workshop. After we had seen our interviews we were then
critiqued by the class and the teachers.
What was the most difficult question you were asked? Why?
The question that I had the most difficulty coming up with
an answer for is; what is your biggest weakness? I never focus or think about
my weaknesses, and I wasn’t sure how I was to make a weakness sound like a
positive thing. We practiced quite a bit, and now I know how to answer.
What advice would you give to others preparing for an
interview?
Doing mock interviews with someone who knows what they are
doing helps a lot. Write down possible questions and the answers to those
questions. Practice a lot.
Name at least three (3) things you learned.
·
How to prepare for an interview.
·
That talking with your hands is not a bad thing.
·
Silence is not bad. Take your time to respond to
their questions, if you take your time you will have better answers. Instead of
saying something without thinking.
Name at least three (3) things that can be improved on for
your next interview
·
Good posture.
·
Pause and think, instead of talk and think.
·
Improve my answers. Study and write down more
possible answers. Until they flow naturally.
